“Mommy, I can’t hear Grandpa!” That was the first difficulty Alex Kukoff’s hearing loss presented. She struggled to hear her grandfather — he was dying of complications of Parkinson’s Disease — through the cell phone pressed against her ear in the noisy atmosphere of her mother’s bathroom.
Alex’s CC Glasses
Alex wants to make a difference for others who suffer from hearing loss or impairment. She came to GrabCAD with the idea for closed captioned glasses that would allow anyone who has difficulty hearing join in on the movie or presentation they would like to hear. We will ask our Community to ignite a spark for Alex and do their first pro-bono Challenge!
When we started working on GrabCAD Teams, we wanted to make it easier for any Engineer, Designer or anyone else to collaborate. As a first experiment of our 3D Viewer and annotator, I began working with GrabCADr Ramses Chavez and he began modelling based on my sketches and comments. That was June – now I have finally gotten my hands on the final product, 3D printed in ceramic by Figulo.
GrabCAD is thrilled to present the hard work of over 40 engineers, designers, and non-CAD experts. Solidworks City was envisioned and led by Tommy Mueller using our beta collaborative tool. He wants to “choreograph the future” and saw this SimCity-like group project as an opportunity to “shatter people’s paradigms.” Can you bring engineers from around the world together to create something inspiring because they want to push the envelope of what is possible? That is exactly what Tommy and the Solidworks City crew wanted to find out.
