We see your role as
- Keeping our site - used by over 1.8M engineers - running 24/7.
- Automating everything from deployment to scaling so the system can almost manage itself.
- Improving our site scalability and health.
- Contributing to new products and infrastructure.
- Writing code (and tests!) that control our infrastructure.
We expect you to have
- Linux experience.
- Experience with tools like Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt and Fabric.
- Experience with components of our technology stack - Ruby on Rails, node.js, nginx, redis, memcache, postgres, elasticsearch, sqs, python, bash.
- Solid experience with AWS.
- Great teamwork and communication skills.
We’d love it if you also have
- Ruby or Python development.
- Experience with 3D printing, digital fabrication, mechanical engineering, computer aided design (CAD) software.
Our development environment
- SAAS application, mostly hosted on AWS.
- Large components in Ruby on Rails.
- Front-end application based on RoR, AngularJS and JavaScript.
- Several back-end components in RoR, Java, Node.js.
- We process & move large amounts of files and data.
- Highly available application: we support over 1.6M users.
- We use Git for source code management.
- We use Scrum.
- CI - Jenkins, TeamCity.
- Our developers also own product quality.
- We love working in teams and collaborating.
