"What does my rank show? How do I get my profile to 100% complete?" Two questions we owe an answer to.
When you log in to GrabCAD you’re welcomed by stats relating to the CAD models you’ve shared with others, engineers following you, how many times your profile has been viewed etc. Below that you see something like this:
When you just start out today then your rank is something like #11,000 - not very exciting. It just shows that your new and haven’t done much. This is easy to fix. While the exact formula we use to calculate rank is and will remain a secret there are a few simple things you can do to start climbing higher.
The fastest and easiest way is to share interesting and useful CAD models. High quality and popular models are the fast track to the top of the list.
Secondly, high quality feedback to others counts - help with technical advice, constructive criticism, tips on solving a particular challenge etc. The added bonus is that others notice you and your profile, start following you, give their own feedback to your models. This all adds up, and is hopefully useful to you too.
You rank against all other GrabCAD members and as of writing this post there are almost 12,000 others. You can check the number of others on the engineer’s frontpage.
If you see your rank falling then it means that other’s are putting in some effort to get to a higher position. Only one way to maintain your position - stay an active member of the community.
I’m #48 right now, what’s your rank? :)
How do I get my profile to 100%?
As I wrote in our FAQs it’s relatively simple - fill out your profile, upload 5 CAD models and you’re golden. There’s a trick, though…
Right now you can only get up to 90%. We are very-very soon updating the profile page, adding more fields (like education and work) and these will get you the extra 10%.
In the future we might add more features and sections and your % might fall below 100% to tell you that there’s more you can tell others (and potential clients, partners, future employers) about yourself.
Let us know what you think about the feature.
