GrabCAD is a great repository for electrical work. There are thousands of Electrical and Electromechanical Engineers who regularly upload completed professional work as well as individual components. Big or small, there's always a way for GrabCAD to make it easier to show off your work or find those components to complete your CAD design - here's some of our favourite models that empower every Electrical Engineer!
The model that sparked this choice of theme was this Siemens Vacuum Circuit by AJD. Capable of handling upwards of 36kV (this one is designed for 20kV), these medium-duty breakers can be used a wide-range of applications (official documentation here).
Need something that can handle a little more voltage? Like, 132 kV? Start with this model of a High-Voltage Hybrid Module uploaded by Pedro Lopes last summer.
Nicely modeled Motor-control circuit by Fazzlil 737, who has got a lot of great robotics work on his profile.
There's nice. Then there's straightforward professionalism. This here is a Geckodrive G540 CNC Stepper Controller by John Steensen. Almost a perfect copy, this a must-have for anyone in need of a Stepper Controller - 'one of the most popular' according to John. Great render by Arian Shamil.
From professional Engineers to children to everywhere inbetween, the Arduino and it's brethren are the heart of every robotics project. When using CAD, having this model is key to making sure the tolerances are perfect. This Mega 2560 was created by Augustine Aelevanthara.
At the risk of looking like we've been paid by Siemens, here's another circuit breaker. It's a high quality file, modeled by Ricardo Luiz Teixeira and is available for download in dwg, stl, stp and CATpart. You can never argue with a great model!
Special thanks to AJD for uploading this Distribution Rack and Box. Nice touch for urban planning or serious electrical work.
Described by Greg Potts as 'Old-school' electrical hardware, there might be some use for those in need of some reference material for this NTE Relay Box. Nothing rusts aways in the GrabCAD cloud (except the servers - Grabby takes good care of 'em)
And finally, a really wonderful video of a Transformer by Bryce Hooper. The best render of any electrical work I've seen thus far - give it up for Đuro Masniković for the rendering and video work!
