on my last browsing session on GrabCAD a War Chariot Model got my attention.
I checked the profile of Chuck Ridley and was amazed by great models on his profile.
I sent private message and asked more. This is the inspiring answer I got
"
I am a robotics systems designer by trade and have spent most of my working hours over the last 25 years, immersed in how best to apply and integrate these technologies to meet the needs of today’s industrial and manufacturing requirements.
It is great work and I enjoy it thoroughly. It allows me the opportunity from an engineering standpoint to build and improve on what I have designed, but it is also a job that requires a fresh take, continuous learning, and exploration of new avenues and new ideas in every design.
As with any type of work, one often needs a break from their labor and some form of outside stimulus to refresh and sustain future efforts. I have always had a great interest in the history of art and design and a particular fascination with the works of Da Vinci and the broad gamut his talents and interests embraced.
Da Vinci once stated, “Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, for when you come back to your work your judgment will be surer. Go some distance away because then the work appears smaller and more of it can be taken in at a glance and a lack of harmony and proportion is more readily seen.”
I was impressed by this statement and find that putting it in practice is a great way to keep my thoughts and mind both active and fresh.
I make it a practice to study and appreciate the great work of others and the try to understand the thought processes and efforts they must have put into it to achieve its outcome. In doing so, it keeps my mind stimulated, refueled, and continuously wanting to learn. This serves as the core of what motivates me.
Best Regards,
C. Ridley
