Terrible word-play aside, congratulations to all the winners and a big thanks to everyone that submitted something to the Creative Watch Challenge! It was a pleasure to see people come up with all of these wonderful watch designs. Not only that, but great stories to 'underline' the entry. Best of all, Louie Dietz from Woodchip Designs was very active in the whole competition, fielding questions and making sure everyone was on the right page.
First Prize - Creative Watch Design: Woody One by Fidel Chirtes
Fidel really grasped all aspects of the contest using the correct materials in an incredibly stylish and creative way. while it is not the easiest watch to produce it has the best look and will really generate buzz in the limited edition watch category.
Second Prize - Woodchip Rise 2 Watch by Luke Maselkowski
Luke was talking to me early and often and had a really great idea. it makes the skeleton movement a really unique feature while still using all the other materials in harmony. very cool design and im excited to go forward with the prototypes.
Third Prize - Creative Watch Woodchip Design 1 by Steve Desrosiers
Steve came through with something that generated a lot of interest simply because it was so unique. people either loved it or hated it. While the design needs a bit of tweaking it shows a lot of promise.
Fourth Prize - Crafts Mitheme by Mickey Gole
Mickey nailed it with the use of materials. including really taking the leather work and making it a feature.
Fifth Prize - Luckily by Thierry Favreau
Thierry took a bit more classic approach using wood simply as an accent but the beauty and eye catch design can not be denied.
Sixth Prize - WII Bomber Style by Ross McSherry
Ross really had just a clean watch with really nice accents. While the face did not show a lot of the movement, everyone loved the hands and face.
