Another week, another set of excellent CAD models uploaded (I promise I’ll post on Friday next time, it’s in my calendar now), time to browse through them and find the 10 most interesting ones.
A stunningly rendered radial engine model for SolidWorks from Dragos (it’s only one of his many excellent models) which he modeled already while in highscool based on pictures he found on the internet and some Youtube videos.
An Alibre model of a kitchen layout and furniture Al Trice uploaded.
"Ordinary kettle" is how Sartorius himself comments his model but we say it’s a great example of how simple is better, less is more. The teapot model is for SolidWorks.
This rather abstract model of nested spheres (SolidWorks again) comes is the handywork of Scott Bruins who made it specifically for 3D printing. Each sphere is contained but can rotate freely.
A new member from Japan, Hide Waka uploaded this layout of what he calls the Sto house done in SketchUp. One screenshot only tells a small part, the detail of the layout is quite amazing.
Not a week goes by without new planed models in our library. This week’s pick (and it beat the likes of F22 Raport, the Eurofigter etc) was done by Paulo Henrique Faria who uploaded this radio controlled airplane together with a tiny 26 cc engine. Both models are for SolidWorks.
This 40 horsepower governor marine engine (model for SolidWorks) dates back to 1908 and was used for constant speed for precision use. Author: Vincent Colson
Shawn Schnee has shared this model of a concept motorcycle he’s christianed The B91. Reminds me somewhat of the notorious Wraith bike. Shawn has several other high quality models uploaded, check them out.
Gatot Suseno signed up with GrabCAD only a few days ago but has already 18 uploaded models that have been downloaded a few hundred times. This hydraulic truck for SolidWorks is on of his most detailed models.
Anyone who’s seen any of Pixar movies is familiar with this fun little lamp. Modeled by Shelly in Autodesk Inventor it’s also available as a STEP file. Anyone wants to help simulate the springs, Shelly could use some help there.
That’s it this time, this week is already shaping up to be very interesting.
