“Report This Model” Functionality
GrabCAD is committed to building a professional and fun community of mechanical engineers. Online spammers are a direct threat to our vision. We’ve just introduced a feature to help combat this spam.
In the past few weeks, we’ve been working hard to adapt to our rapidly expanding community. One of the problems we’ve encountered are spammers– users who sign up and upload models which they do not have the right to upload and also users who upload bogus models or upload models multiple times. Hardi released our response to this issue last week, and the GrabCAD team has developed a solution: A “Report this model” button now appears in the top right corner of each model view.
If there is a problem with any model (i.e. it is not the members original work, the file does not open, the file is uploaded multiple times etc…), please take the time to report the model as spam by clicking the button. Once you click on this button, this box will pop up. Take a second to let us know why the CAD Model is inappropriate.
This will alert the GrabCAD team to the issue, and we will take appropriate action. We’re striving to bring you an awesome community. Help us by reporting spammers.
Cheers,
Gabe

Doubt!
I’ll know if my drawings are accused?
“Report this model”
Why are you blocking models BEFORE investigating them? That sounds like a “guilty until proven innocent” approach. Why not let the accuser show why they think the model is plagiarised? In a case where the model actually is an original, but has still been blocked, what should the user do to resolve this?
We don’t remove the file before we have been investigated them.
Great addition Gabe and as a great community working together as one to stop the spammers.
:)))
You removed a model of mine because some idiot reported it for no reason, I modelled it following a tutorial within solidworks (candlestick).
Greg, I do apologies. If the model is done followed by tutorial of course it is ok. Thank you for making it public again.
As said by Hardi we will investigate the model before we entirely delete it from the library.
[...] a successful engineering and manufacturing community. Last changes in GrabCAD that allows you to report this model and upload notification shows that GrabCAD is listening. At the same time, in my view, it happened [...]
