Since 2012 it’s been an annual tradition for GrabCAD to hold the Golden Gear Awards as a way of recognizing top contributors in the Community. These are people who, over the past year, embodied Community values, shared their amazing work and in the process, helped change the way people make things. As part of this celebration, members design trophies in the Trophy Challenge and we 3D print the winner for Golden Gear recipients. We want to thank each and every member who for every tutorial, comment, and CAD model shared, and for making GrabCAD the Community the place it is.

This model does a great job at showing the impact that one model can have in the Community. The Jarde Dummy has been downloaded more than 4,500 times and has likely been used to help design dozens of other products. This is an amazing accomplishment and testament to Jari Ikonen’s work.

The community has been buzzing over this guitar model. It has 148 comments and rising, making it the most discussed model in the Community in 2015. And why not? There was a lot to talk about! Like the fantastic detail work and shining chrome knobs.

There's no "I" in team, especially with a project as big as this one! The top collaborative model highlights the best model comprised from a group effort. With more than 2,000 parts this was no small project for the CGP Design team of Adi Pandzic, Adis Muminovic & Vahid Avdic. This model took over a year and a half to complete, and came out spectacular.

Given the importance of learning, we wanted to award the member whose tutorial had the most impact on the community.
