Lots happened in GrabCAD this past week! Keyshot and Figulo Challenge results came in - they were by far our most creative challenges. It wasn't about whether it worked, but how it looked. If you're looking for a real challenge about making something that works, take a look at our BUZZ design challenge and Krimelte Foam Heater Challenge.
For this challenge, Krimelte is looking for a simple foam heater for their aerosol foam guns. In cold weather their foam doesn't expand or seal properly - your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to design something to resolve this. There's only 7 days left and $2100 in Prizes! Get on it before its gone!
The Design BUZZ Challenge was started by our friends at Develop3D. Beekeeping has become very popular in urban areas yet a lot of the tools needed are rather antiquated and old. So what can GrabCAD do to breathe life into these designs? What novel re-imagination can the GrabCAD Community concoct? We have a NVIDIA Quadro 2000 by PNY plus your own 3D printed prototypes of your winning model as prizes. There are only 11 days left for this contest - let's put our hive mind together to solve this challenge.
Our spotlight on GrabCAD user Edison Phoenix generated a lot of discussion. He said to GrabCAD that he really wanted to start a car design company. I asked him how and he listed off a number of our best users. A few days later and a full-blown design 'brainstorm' is going by a group of calling themselves the GrabCAD Engineering Crew (GC/EC)! If you want to see what's going on there, take a look at GrabCAD's unofficial Facebook page or ask Edison if its possible to be added to the Project page GC/EC has going and add your voice to the discussion!
