You might have already noticed the nice new tab 'CAD services' or read our tweet about launching the hot out of the oven functionality. Yes, it took us longer than wanted and some patience from you to wait for the day of the premier, but we're happy to announce the CAD services is now live.
So what's new and exciting in the Services and Ordering front.
Clicking the tab opens up a CAD Services page that shows the examples of work you can order in GrabCAD. If some of your hobby projects or sketching up living room furniture has been waiting for the first free weekend (and that for months), you can now easily fix the problem and order the following services:
- technical drawings
- 3D CAD models
- photorealistic images
- conversion work between different softwares.
Go ahead, getting the quote is free of charge, so you can try out the CAD services Order form and see how much a new bookshelf 3D CAD model from your napkin drawing would cost you :)
Your opinions are also important to us. If you think there is something missing from the order form, or anything confusing, do speak out and give us feedback. We've even added a clear and simple box for that on the left hand side of the Order page.
However, that is not all. What do I get from this CAD services and ordering functionality, you may ask? And we have an answer. If you are one of the already many engineers who are interested in doing CAD work, then check out your profile and see if there is enough information about your expertise and some example drawings that show off your skills. GrabCAD has more and more work coming in and we are actively looking for engineers to give work to. The more information your profile has, the better your chances are for getting chosen (and paid!).
If you haven't yet updated your profile but want to collaborate more actively, go to your profile page and tick the 'I would like to receive CAD work' box. That's a good start to receive more updates form us about all the hot and interesting projects that you can participate in.
Until then, upload some more cool drawings for the 3D Printing Challenge, comment on the files you like the most and keep spreading the word about GrabCAD. The more of us here, the more fun!
