If you're an Architect, an Industrial Designer or a Mechanical Engineer, you're heard of Red Dot Design Awards. If you've handled an iPad, or a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupé, you've interacted with a Red Dot winner. Every year since 1955, Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Essen, Germany has received tens of thousands of entries and has a Jury of the biggest names choose the winners. These chosen few are exhibited in the Red Dot Museum, the former boiler-room of the Zollverein Coal Mine Complex (itself, a UNESCO World Heritage Site). And not only that, boasts the Red Dot label to consumers. And right now, they're taking entries for 2013.
Anyone can submit something, whether you're a big company or a small company, from Andorra or Zimbabwe. On GrabCAD there are thousands of Product Designers, young and old, new and experiencers, thirsty for international recognition. Red Dot is in search of excellence, not hyped products. We've seen enough on GrabCAD to know that there are more than a few winners out there ...
