Conveyor systems are one of those important aspects yet often ignored aspects of factory layout and mechanical design. And one of the more common and heavily downloaded items on GrabCAD. Simple reason? For the millions of different products or parts created, there are a million different variations of conveyor systems. As a little tribute, we thought we'd collect the best ones out there for this week's MWL.
This Roller Bed by MECA was an important part of another Engineer's work. Kevin Dobson commented, "I'm working with a client that needs some material handling solutions. I was going to model something like this as preliminary concept. Not any more. Excellent work.". MECA was really happy to find his work being used again - made us damn proud as well!
What I thought was a render was actually a picture of Matt Westfield's Custom side grip conveyor designed in Alibre for small bottles coming to a fill-and-cap mechanism. Nice to see the final result of CAD work 'in the flesh', so-to-speak.
When a factory renovation and retooling project throws a spanner into your plans, you get around it by downloading this Curved Conveyor model by Esteban Martínez, thank him, make adjustments, upload it and cite his work. Or at least, that's what I'd do.
The most downloaded model tagged with 'conveyor'. This model made by Esteban Martínez owes it's popularity to straightforwardness and the fact that it gets to the point. Whatever you need to move, from point A to point B.
Waleed Kahn uploaded this Modular Conveyor design on the 24th of January. Fellow GrabCADr michal had this to say a few days ago. "Once again you show high skills. Master Of Conveyors!!!! I add some rendenders of this super sheet metal modular parts......" We concur, and wish we had a badge to give out to all those 'Masters of Conveyors'....
