The idea was to bring CAD to color and color to CAD. A record breaking 557 entries did just that! The winners of this Challenge were recently announced at IDSA's 2013 The Color of Design Conference and they all are worthy of a big congratulations. We also want to celebrate the original models they used to create their work. Look for the original model posted alongside the winners.
Tomas, Color Creator and model by Tomas, as well.
First place winner, Tomas (pictured above) won a KeyShot / Animation 1 year license, a custom spec build from BIKEID, and a GrabCAD shirt and mug. Such amazing texture and creative reuse of a model! Second, third and fourth places (listed below) all took home a KeyShot license and GrabCAD swag, too.
Oli, we love that Grabby the Bot made an appearance and think the use of the Keyshot logo was spectacular. Sam created a truck that looked so real, we wanted to drive it home. Andrew took a traditional grand piano, and turned it into something fun and vibrant. Wonderful!
Second place: Oli Sparrow, Community Service IDSA Challenge with Fanuc Robot by Mill-Performance.
Third place: Sam, IDSA Rendering Challenge Rat Rod with Ford model B like pickup rod by nagym.
Fourth place: Andrew Coyne, Grand Piano Couloured Octaves with Grand Piano Yamaha by Manzil Kale.
The fifth place winner, Abed Sabeh, and sixth place winner, Santiago Ortega, both get a GrabCAD shirt and mug. They both used artistic supplies, which we loved. Abed went for the edgier spray cans while Santiago played with the idea of classic watercolors. Inspired!
Fifth place: Abed Sabeh, Spray Cans with model also by Abed Sabeh.
Sixth place: Santiago Ortega, Watercolors with original watercolor also by Santiago Ortega.
Thank you to everyone who participated! We hope to have more Challenges like this in the future. We ask that all participants upload their work to the original models who inspired them and say thank you!
