We’re excited to announce that as of today, our pricing plans for Workbench are live!
Pricing Is Now Live!
As of this morning we’ve “turned on” our payment system. This means two things:
-
Users can now pay for GrabCAD Workbench subscriptions right on our website using a credit card
-
Users on our Free plan who have more than 2 projects will need to upgrade to create or join new projects
If you are a free user and have two or fewer projects, nothing has changed. If you have two or more projects you’ll need to upgrade your account before you can create or join a new project.
New Pricing Plans
We’ve made some changes to our pricing plans: we offer three plans - one free and two paid.
-
Free - Users can have up to 2 projects and up to 1 GB of storage.
-
Professional - $25/user/month - Users have unlimited projects plus other features not available to Free users, as well as up to 25 GB of storage.
-
Enterprise - $49/user/month - All the benefits of Professional plus additional administration and support features more appropriate for larger companies, as well as 50 GB of storage.
Why Should I Upgrade to Professional?
While our Free plan is designed for casual or introductory users, our Professional plan is designed for companies who are using Workbench to manage internal or external collaboration among engineers, project managers, salespeople, clients, customers, suppliers or partners. It offers:
-
Unlimited projects per user - Unlimited projects includes both the projects created by that user and projects where the person is a collaborator.
-
Ability to add collaborators in “view only” role - Some users have requested this feature to allow them to allow collaborators like suppliers to view but not download files.
-
Greater storage per user - 25 GB of storage will enable you to store a large number of CAD files.
-
Company account administration - Many users have told us they need the ability to associate projects with a company, not just a user.
Introducing Company Accounts
Many of our users told us they needed a way to centrally administer all of the Workbench accounts for their company. They wanted one central billing contact, one place to add or remove users, and most importantly, the ability to move projects from one user to another (for example, if an employee leaves the company). To meet these needs we created company accounts as part of our paid plans.
When you upgrade to Professional you’ll be asked to create a company account. This only needs to be done once per company - once your administrator has created a company account, he or she can invite all the other Workbench users to that account. Each company account has one or more admins, and the admins have some additional capabilities that other users don’t have:
-
They can add users to the company account - This means that the company account is paying for the user, no need for each user to get out a separate credit card.
-
They can transfer projects between users - If a user leaves the company, his or her projects can be transferred to another user.
-
They can remove users from the company account - If a user is removed from the company account they will no longer have access to the company projects and their account type will be set to Free.
How Do I Upgrade to Professional?
It’s easy to upgrade your Free account to a Professional account.
-
Go to Workbench Settings > Account Settings
-
Click “Upgrade Account”
-
Enter the company name, # of seats you will be purchasing for your company
-
Enter payment information
-
Confirm the transaction
-
After purchase, you can enter the email addresses of the people you wish to add to the company account
Each of the users you invite will get an email letting them know that their account has been upgraded.
What About Enterprise?
Several users have told us that they work for large companies with more complex requirements around user auditing, reporting and integration with existing systems. We’re in the process of rolling out features to support those needs, and we’ll bundle them in our Enterprise plan. If this sounds like something your organization might be interested in, please contact our sales team to learn more.
What Are You Waiting For? Go Upgrade Your Account!
If you’ve been using Workbench and love the freedom of easy sharing and the comfort of knowing your files are secure, we hope you’ll consider upgrading to a paid account. You can do it right in your Workbench account or contact our sales team and we’ll walk you through it. And please send us any feedback or thoughts on our plans and how you think we could improve them!
