The supercar challenge for the 500 Group hosted on GrabCAD is proceeding well with over 70 entries already. With 11 days left, we expect to see many more models and designs uploaded for consideration in the $3500 prize purse!
There are 2 separate body challenges-- "street" vs. "track". Engineers are encouraged to submit entries in both categories and can win both separate challenges. The Street challenge is to design balance and an integrated appearance along with a signature element. Street cars are a reflection of their owners. Customers must imagine themselves driving the car. The Track challenge provides an opportunity to create a body sculpted by airflow and the track. Be bold, but realize that submissions must remain street legal and practical.
The Track challenge is underrepresented in the models uploaded thus far, which provides a great opportunity for more submissions. The prize purse is identical in both challenges, so due to the number of concepts submitted, the "track" challenge is less competitive. Make sure to get your entry in before the deadline. Prizes include $3500 in cash as well as the possibility of additional work and invitations to select test locations in Europe, North Africa and the USA. Sounds awesome, right?
