Hugely popular Makerbot challenge got it's winners. EricJDurwoodII and his Mr. Maker showed the other robots the blinking lights and grabbed the 1st prize.
MakerBot describes the winner as being 'a great mix of friendly, printable, and cute.' We like it because of the 'stomach' that gives endless possibilities to customize it, the spool and the potential of making Mr. Maker making the next Mr or Miss.
The first runner-up was Leo Slawik and his Mickey. Everybody loved his glasses, it should have huge appeal among kids and our personal favourite was one particular image of Mickey that Indrek described as 'when robot gets scared'.
The second runner up was snatched by lorenIPSVN and the glowing scary Replicant-g. This was the favourite of other users renderings and screaming for all kinds of different head instalments.
The rest of the following runner-ups get big congratulations from MakerBot and GrabCAD, too.
Transformer Makerbot by Kir Ari.
BotBot with attention-grabbing hands and serious impressions by Henri Palonen.
A cool little creature by Petur. The name is cryptic, anyone figured it out?
Another serious heavy-weight Mambo by LineKernel.
Mark ii by PabloFerroDesign looks less of a robot and more of a cartoon character, no?
Mrobot by Adam Rosendorff goes down in the Makerbot challenge history as the most excitement and humour generating one. Just take look at the comment and the renderings added to the model.
This little robo-vehicle by Taylor can surely move on the Earth, Moon, Mars and outer galaxies.
And finally, the Make-a-bot/Mike duo of showing the different sides of one robot was a nice touch from Vincent Vedie.
Congratulations to all!
