We love it when people are given an opportunity to take an idea and run with it, which is exactly why we made the iPhone 5 Accessory Challenge. We got an impressive 118 entries from around the World for a new type of iPhone case. Be it for work, travel, fun, games or pure uselessness, every GrabCADr out there had something to say. So many great entries that Mike Enayah's iTheatre and tris.d's iPhone Big Screen got some solid coverage on many blogs like PSFK and BitRebels. Nice job everyone
First Prize of $500 - Iphone 5 - iRig Case by Dennis Roffe
Musicians favor iPhones for their ease of use and cool factor. They’re also great for altering the sound (via an iRig Adapter), making notes, reading lyrics or finding chord charts. This would be a perfect addition to the set-up, for it’s usefulness and simplicity.
Most Creative Submission for $100 - Quadrotor case by Victor
The iPhone 5 is the lightest phone yet, the most important factor in getting Victor’s idea off the ground. If it wasn’t so hard to get working, this would be the first prize. (This was a difficult one to choose for - too many creative submissions!)
Best 3D printable design incorporating Grabby the Bot ($100)- Grabphone by Tiago Barbara
A combination of Grabby, a smart idea and a bit of hard work, Tiago Barbara’s entry really caught our attention. Something we’d like to see in the office that’s for sure.
