...what would you make? Something simple, like a utensil for the kitchen? An improved design for a travel mug? You can design anything for the 3D Printing Event Challenge, as long as it's appealing to the average consumer (so don't make a slide ruler or the replacement handle for your fridge door). For your efforts, you will receive a brand new Creatr 3D Printer from Leapfrog! Then you can make all the slide rulers and fridge door handles you wish.
If you're looking for an idea, or inspiration to how you could design your idea, cruise through the GrabCAD library. Take a look at last year's entries or glance at a few our of 3D printing challenges. Don't invent a design and search for problems to solve with it - look around for that nagging design problem and come up with an ingenious solution. And of course, don't design something aesthetic, like a flower pot or maybe even a toy, without asking everyone around what you think - including the GrabCAD community. Constructive criticism always improves a product.
Read the rules and regulations carefully and follow them as best you can. If you have a question, put it out there on the comments. If you have a technical issue with uploading, leave it a comment or email Kaspar, Gabe or JF to see what can be done. Right now we're missing a little information about how exactly your submission would be 3D Printed (by Shapeways, by Leapfrog, etc.). Any new information we receive will be posted on the Challenge page immediately.
Good luck!
