WWW, or Wow What a Week. A number of challenges were launched, a few more ended. And GrabCAD kept on rolling. Our official GrabCAD mascot, Grabby, was given an official body to download to. Soon 'he' will be gracing the desks of Engineers across the World.
Speaking of desks - you're done with the desk this weekend. Your work desk or school desk, it doesn't matter. What are you going to do with your time? We don't know, but we can suggest. For example, if you have a pen and paper, we're looking for ideas for a bike product. In the end, we're going to choose the best design and help you make a design group to use GrabCAD Teams so you can create an actual product. This way we can get a better understanding of what's missing and what you need more!
As a separate challenge from GrabCAD, I launched the LED Light Bottle Challenge. I'm seeing a lot of great designs, some made by Engineers who approached the problem completely differently and came up with unusual (yet brilliant) solutions. Looking back at your desk - maybe you'll notice that old coke bottle - anything come to mind?
We've got the 3D Printing Event Challenge going right now - can you come up with a useful office or consumer item that can be 3D Printed? We've received over 100 entries - damn impressive. One thing though - don't submit models that aren't really designed in the spirit of the rules.
But hey, if Challenges aren't your thing - there's always a time to try out a new CAD software. And there's always GrabCAD Tutorials to explain how to do this or that. Or perhaps how to design an engine from scratch. Or maybe you can take a little time to give back - check out all the unanswered questions and up your cred as a wise CAD sage.
Have a good weekend, GrabCAD!
