Renderers can rejoice, the integration between Luxion KeyShot and GrabCAD is even tighter. This means it’s even easier to share your renderings - whether you’re seeking to show as many people as possible, or just with private project collaborators.
Back in June we told you about how our partnership with Luxion allowed you to publish Keyshot renderings and images directly to the GrabCAD community library or to GrabCAD Workbench. Let’s review the original integration and then check out the even stronger interoperability just released.
How it works
Publishing from KeyShot to GrabCAD
Within KeyShot, the option under Edit > Preferences > Plugins is available. When a user activates this plugin, they will be prompted to log into GrabCAD allowing authorization to connect to the GrabCAD users’ account. After a rendering is created, users may select the image(s) they wish to upload from the KeyShot Library Renderings tab, right-click and select “Publish to GrabCAD”. The user has the option to publish the image(s) to the public Library or private Workbench. Once published, the user will be taken to the GrabCAD project in their web browser.
NEW: Importing from GrabCAD to KeyShot
When you have an active Workbench account, you will be able to load your model directly into KeyShot, directly from the GrabCAD interface. This added functionality allows the user to immediately download the model and open it inside KeyShot with the import dialog displayed as with any other direct import. Once imported and KeyShot scene is complete, users can upload the KeyShot scene file (.bip) back to their workbench and share. This also allows the ability to download the .bip directly from a Workbench and back into KeyShot again.
