Wow, less than 24 hours ago we launched beta version of GrabCAD CAD library and what a ride it has been so far. Naturally we opened a bottle of bubbly once the library hit the web but it was kids kind of bubbly, lots of fizz, none of the alcohol. We're saving the real thing for a bigger occasion.
30 minutes after the launch our servers went down. A quick call to our hosting provider (friendly team over at HAvirtual) solved the problem and now our server should have enough juice (unless all CAD engineers stormed our site at once, though that would be a good problem to have) to run smoothly.
Then the download stopped working. Once that got fixed the upload stopped working. It felt like Murphy was in full force with his laws. As is always the case all that worked fine in our development server. But I guess we're just like every other startup with their first launch :) Oh well, at least there's something to remember.
Today we're back to building new stuff. The great thing about getting your product live in front of the users is that more clear picture emerges what works and what doesn't. So far it was a picture in our head, we thought that something would be neat and something else wouldn't be necessary but seeing your product filled with real users and content is a good reality check.
* I shouldn't probably use this title but we're honest over here. And in the end everything worked out :)
