About Adlerflow
Adlerflow is high-tech company that creates custom-made ceramic coated performance exhausts for Porsche enthusiasts to enjoy better performance and privilege customisation by producing state-of-the-art Zirconium ceramic coated, heat controlled performance exhausts systems.
Adlerflow products are precision designed, using SolidWorks to ensure direct bolt-on compatibility with stock system. CAD data is later used in manufacturing and quality check procedures.
Parts are fabricated from stainless steel. Flanges are made from mild steel or stainless, regarding of application. All exhaust parts are TIG welded, using geometrically correct and free-flowing mandrel-bent stainless steel tubing and CNC machined flanges.
All details are sand-blasted and meticulously cleaned before ceramic coating. This procedure ensures longevity and quality of later coatings. Touching the part during this stage with bare hand is forbidden to guarantee impeccable quality.
How Adlerflow uses GrabCAD
Adlerflow custom-built exhausts are made quite differently from traditional manufacturing where technical drawings precede physical products. In Adlerflow’s case the process is turned upside down - the company provides parts that will be complementing the car but also replacing standard parts.
All mufflers are handcrafted to particular Porsche model to replace standard parts assembled in factory. Custom-made parts have to fit in the car but due to technical features the shape and elements are not exactly similar to original parts.
Car base will be measured so that the exhaust and all the fixings will fit in. After measuring Adlerflow will make a prototype to refine the shape and measures of the exhaust.
After that Adlerflow makes a sketch and sends the information to GrabCAD to order CAD files and technical drawings of the exhaust. They will also get the photo-realistically rendered images that are used to sell the exhausts on their website.
The order is then matched to the best available engineer from GrabCAD’s network of over 8500. The matching is based on their industry background, software skills, experience, rating. To protect the intellectual properties each engineers signs the standard non-disclosure agreement.
Before delivering work back to Adlerflow GrabCAD’s senior engineer double checkes the quality of the finished files and after hand over the work will be invoiced.
