That's right! Figulo loved how well the last challenge went in March that they decided to run the Figulo Ceramic Challenge. It's not going to be anything like our last challenge. Users must come up with either a vase, a table lamp or a candle holder, with $500 going to the winner in each category and $100 to honourable mentions. Wait, there's more. GrabCAD is giving out $100 prizes to those users that use our Collaboration Tool and work together!
Already we've been receiving a few entries - competition is going to be fierce. However, 3D printing and challenge guidelines are going to be heavily enforced. Make sure that your submission is either a candle holder, a vase or a table lamp and that it can be 3D printed. If you have any questions contact Andy or leave a comment on the challenge page. We recommend you team up with one another to share workload, save time and help ensure that you're following the guidelines correctly. Maybe you have a great idea on paper but you don't know how to design it? Search for someone, check out their profile, ask them for help and then send them your sketches! Got skills and time but no good ideas? Offer your help to others who need it. Got a great design but no access to proper rendering tools to make your piece eye-catching? Look for someone with a Render badge for a hand!
For those of you who haven't heard of Figulo, they are a ceramic 3D Printing company based in Boston. They 3D print objects with a silica sand material, glaze it and then fire it in a kiln. For a first time submitter, take a look at either their website Figulo.com or have a look at our last competition in March, paying particular attention to the winning designs or read this recent case study on it.
Challenge ends on July 1st - only 13 days left. Best of luck to all the contestants and design teams!
