It's the weekend. You've escaped the Office/Studio/ Lab/Class and feel like thinking outside the box and trying something different. Well, as it so happens, GrabCAD has a few challenges on the go. Care to flex your rendering skills and win a free copy of Keyshot Pro? Or perhaps design and submit a ceramic table lamp for the Figulo Ceramic Challenge? Nearly $7,200 value in prizes!
Figulo Ceramic Challenge
These Figulo Challenges are popular. As of Friday, we have received more than 300 entries! A lot of participates from our last challenge with Figulo have returned for round II. Essentially, Figulo is looking for a great looking Vase, Candle-holder or Table Lamp that can be 3D printed and glazed using Figulo's patented process. Before opening Solidworks or Rhino and getting to work, take the time to look at the design guidelines and illustrations. Read the comments below and look at the other entries to get a handle on what can and cannot be printed. Teamwork is encouraged! GrabCAD is offering $100 prizes to the best team-entries. Message a friend to help render your design, or offer help on perfecting another's! Collaboration is key to success. But move quick - the deadline is on July 2st, UTC 11:59.
Keyshot Challenge
Keyshot is THE way to render files, any file, with virtually any material out there. Luxion, the maker of Keyshot, is running a competition to see who in the GrabCAD community can render an engine best. Can you make a propellor's hub glint as it really would? Can you animate a Pratt & Whitney as if it was the real thing? Can you render a disassembled V8 on the floor of a workshop, almost as if it was a real picture? If you don't have a copy of Keyshot Pro, email license@luxion.com with "KeyShot 3D Rendering Contest (GrabCAD)" in the subject line to receive a free 15-day license.
