Hello everyone, it's that time again to check out the top models from the GrabCAD Community! This month we are going to focus on a few great models that were created in SOLIDWORKS in April.
SOLIDWORKS is a solid modeling computer-aided design and a computer-aided engineering computer program that runs primarily on Microsoft Windows. This program is one of the most used programs in the CAD community.
Now, for the models:
SOLIDWORKS Models from April
Soap Dispenser by Dude Design
We have a nicely modeled Soap Dispenser. With everyone being cautious and making sure soap is in an easy-to-access space (especially outside of the home) this dispenser will help keep it in a nice snug container. I wonder if this could hold hand sanitizer as well?!
Wooden Clothes Pin by Ahmed ElPrince
This may be a simple clothespin, but in my opinion, I believe this is a very nice model. It’s not every day that you get to see a simple model being created as nicely as this clothespin. If you were looking to make a laundry scene for your next project, be sure to add some of these clothespins in your next scene.
Oven Lighter by Ahmed ElPrince
This a nice model of an Oven Flame lighter. The model has a simple shape to it and the render of it is very nice. If you have a kitchen scene you might want to grab one of these lighters -- flames are not included.
AT-AT from Star Wars by Diego Sequeira
For our Star Wars fans out there, we have a fantastic model of an AT-AT from Star Wars. You know the creator is a big fan because this is a close to one of the AT-AT’s from the movie.
I don't think we can make it walk in real life but this is amazing!
IRAKI OUD by Aymen RAHMENI
One thing I do love is music and this model shows an instrument that I have not seen on GrabCAD before. This is an Iraqi Oud. The Oud is a short-neck lute-type, pear-shaped stringed instrument (a chordophone in the Hornbostel-Sachs classification of instruments) with 11 or 13 strings grouped in 5 or 6 courses.
GrabCAD Print & SOLIDWORKS
Have you heard the exciting news? It is now possible to import 3MF files from SOLIDWORKS in GrabCAD Print! This new workflow will be life changing for our GrabCAD Print users because with a few clicks, you can import your SOLIDWORKS files directly into GrabCAD Print.
