On November 4th, Stratasys launched their first software virtual event! During the event, the GrabCAD software team introduced the world to true additive manufacturing through our open and connected GrabCAD Additive Manufacturing Platform.
This event was an open invitation to those interested in seeing the future of additive manufacturing along with learning about the power of software from our partners and our own software solutions.
From keynote speeches from the CEO of Stratasys, partner roundtables, and success stories, nearly 400 people were able to witness and even interact with industry experts and leaders.
The event may be over however you can still access the event hall. While there, you can view all of the videos that occurred, download information about Industry 4.0, all GrabCAD products, and our partner product information at your leisure!
In the meantime, here are some highlights from the event:
Stratasys Leadership Keynote on Scaling Additive Manufacturing
With 3D printing continuing to advance technologically and demand continuing to rise for products. 3D printing has been receiving much more attention in recent years for its ability to meet the needs of our ever changing world.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been stressing traditional methods of manufacturing which has led to 3D printing lifting its fair share of the manufacturing burden instead of only being a means of prototyping. Additive manufacturing has been becoming more and more of a reality as years have been passing. “We are moving from a focus on prototyping to increasingly using 3D printing for production parts”, explains Dr. Yoav Zeif - CEO of Stratasys.
Connectivity Allowing For Additive Manufacturing
Additive manufacturing at scale needs to be able to mature with the industry and be flexible to meet the needs of a company or industry that is changing. The GrabCAD Additive Manufacturing Platform that was unveiled integrates with smart connected equipment.
“It is able to manage user, machine, and manufacturing data along with moving design and manufacturing intent along a digital thread.” James Berlin - Software Product Manager
Aside from the applications, APIs, and SDK that GrabCAD provides, Independent software vendors and partners are looking to fill in the gaps that manufacturing as a whole possesses.
Our Roundtable Discussion With Our Partners
Industry leaders across the world gathered on Software Day to discuss the importance of connected solutions and how their software is helping forward additive manufacturing at scale. Manufacturing execution systems have been used and continue to be used today but our partners such as Identify3D, Link3D, IndusIntel, Vistory, Teton, AMFG all have unique and powerful applications that address the needs of additive manufacturing.
Their breakout rooms give detailed information on their software solutions and even demos for your viewing pleasure.
Conclusion
Stratasys, like so many industry leaders, is seizing the opportunity afforded by industry 4.0. Through this fourth industrial revolution we will change the entire field of additive manufacturing from prototyping to production. This blog only covered 3 sessions out of an entire day-long event. If you would like to learn more about Industry 4.0, our partners, Stratasys’s new direction, or the GrabCAD Additive Manufacturing Platform, GrabCAD offers a free AM evaluation where you can speak to a PM to learn how you can scale and maximize your production.
