This week we bring you a new era of featured models from the GrabCAD library. The community continues to grow and we see more and more highly detailed models every day.
We want to feature the best of those and give credit to the thought and work that went into the process and story behind each. We hope you like it and if you see a high quality model that you love, be sure to let them know. Incredible Detail, Incredible Models. The GrabCAD community never fails to amaze.
Custom Drop Seat Bike
by Terry Stonehocker
Automotive
SolidWorks
This custom bike designed by fellow GrabCAD member, Gary Downer speaks for itself. As Tery puts it, "Gary started collecting information (pics, web sites...) on things that he would like to build a motorcycle with for the past two years. He contacted me here on GrabCAD about putting those things he came up with together. I took him up on the project and started about 120 days ago working on this bike. The bike is a drop seat style frame supporting a 330 rear tire with an old-school S&S Pan Head engine, turning a Tauer Machine split belt drive primary that is driving a Baker RSD Torquebox transmission and a chain final drive. There is a lot of attention to detail displayed through out this bike, Gary knew what he wanted and he and I worked together to put his dream together for him."

Jetpulse Engine
by Nelson Brazeau
Aerospace
SolidWorks / STEP
Nelson took a similar approach to creating models that others do. He started gathering photos, watching videos and learning about the engine. The model is a concept, created with a full length of 40.45" to be used with any type of fuel. He's included PDF's in the download for your reference. This is a great model for complex model design created in SolidWorks with highly detailed parts and a wonderful look at how these engines are put together.

CNC Notching Machine
by Ivan Stojicic
Machine design
Solid Edge ST4 / STEP
The model is a special one, showing the collaborative spirt of the GrabCAD community. Ivan created this CNC Notching Machine thanks to a Chuck model from Pierre Pescay and a 20mm milling tool from Gabriele SWX. The idea is to cut Ø20mm tube with the same 20mm milling tool as Ø80mm tube at any angle possible. Those who work in huge tube manufacturing facilities know what Ivan is talking about. This is a prototype and Ivan is looking for suggestions.
