Whenever he watches a football game, John F. Connolly winces whenever one of the players takes a hit to the head that could result in a concussion.

“Let’s say I’m watching the best team in football, the New England Patriots. If I’m watching and someone gets hit, and goes off the field, they’re going to run the concussion protocol,” says Connolly, who used to live in Boston.
